Remi Bolduc has come up with an utterly charming concept for an album. He went back to his childhood memories of the TV theme songs that he used to hear (and overhear, when he was lying in bed and the TV was on in the living room) on Radio-Canada, and came up with a set of arrangements for alto sax, cello (Sheila Hannigan) and piano (John Roney) for those songs. He included the themes from such shows asFranfeluche, Bobino, Sol et Gobelet and Rue des pignons among the 11 pieces. As the liner notes suggest, it’s a kind of folk music for the first TV generation, and Bolduc, by recasting it, has transformed the music into, well, art. The piece is the third on the album called “Terre humaine”
