John Henry Twachtman (August 4, 1853 – August 8, 1902) was an American painter best known for his impressionist landscapes, though his painting style varied widely through his career. Art historians consider Twachtman’s style of American Impressionism to be among the more personal and experimental of his generation. He was a member of “The Ten”, a loosely-allied group of American artists dissatisfied with professional art organizations, who banded together in 1898 to exhibit their works as a stylistically unified group.

They bombed the airports in Libya.

The Jireček Line is an imaginary line through the ancient Balkans that divided the influences of the Latin (in the north) and Greek(in the south) languages until the 4th century. It goes from near the city of Laçi in modern Albania to Serdica (now Sofia, inBulgaria) and then follows the Balkan Mountains to Odessus (Varna) on the Black Sea.

The placing of the line is based on archaeological findings: most of the inscriptions found to the north of it were written in Latin, while most of the inscriptions found to the south were in Greek.

This line is important in establishing the area where the Romanian and Aromanian people were formed (see Origin of Romanians), it is considered that a Latin-speaking people may have formed near this area since there are Latin Vlach speakers to the north and south of it.

It was originally used by the Czech historian Konstantin Jireček in 1911 in a history of the Slavic people.

An eagle-headed Assyrian divinity sprinkling sacred water onto the Tree of Life.

The oldest scriptures at the heart of every major religion make reference to a mysterious tree at the center of the world. Its fruits, guarded by an evil serpent, confer immortality. A nearby stream of water divides into four rivers flowing into the four cardinal directions. The vicinity of this tree is said to be the birthplace of the first human ancestors. This legend is the oldest, most widely dispersed, and most mysterious religious idea known to mankind.

UN slaps sanctions on Libyan regime

The UN Security Council has unanimously imposed travel bans and asset freezes on Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, members of his family and inner circle.

Saturday’s resolution adopted by the 15-nation council also called for the immediate referral of the deadly crackdown against anti-government demonstrators in Libya to the International Criminal Court in The Hague for investigation and possible prosecution of anyone responsible for killing civilians.

The council demanded an “immediate end to the violence and for steps to address the legitimate demands of the population” in Libya.

Conflicting claims?

This is the description from the site from which I took the picture:

This is one of my favorite symbols of Lucifer attending to the development and life of the enlightened human during his every day life.  The Perfect, Upright Man, here depicted, is striving mightily to raise his consciousness to a level so he can become completely Perfected and Upright.  Of course, when a man achieves this level of consciousness, he becomes a god, nay, even God Himself.  White Magick practitioners love this symbol, as it personifies their pursuit of Lucifer’s religion, the deification of man. Lucifer is depicted as the All-Seeing Eye above the Perfected, Upright Man.

These images of Sacred Geometry come from an old book on occult philosophy by Heinrich Agrippa. The idea was to illustrate the geometrical relationship between man and a cube, cross, pyramid, pentagram, circle or sphere.

Do they really contradict each other?
